and Children’s services, Intermediate Care, Surgical Services, and Med/Surg.

combined decades of successful mentoring and training to make DMC RN Residency Program one of the best available. Integrating proven practices in classroom curriculum, formal mentoring, hands-on skill development, and guided clinical experience, the
DMC RN Residency Program allows nurses to achieve more confidence in clinical practice.
Depending on specialty, the program consists of 280 – 860 hours of unit-based orientation with a seasoned, dedicated preceptor. During orientation, participants will enjoy monthly seminars facilitated by content experts focusing on individual learning styles, clinical reasoning and critical thinking across the continuum of care, palliative care, wound management, vascular access management, time management, resource management, ethical considerations, self-care, resiliency, stress management, teamwork, career planning, and professional growth and development.
Personalized mentoring and support will be provided by program leaders in multiple one-on-one check-ins. By tailoring and individualizing the program to each new graduate, we ensure the transition to clinical practice is meaningful, paving the way for a competent, sound, and independent professional practice.
Positions are available year-round. The program is a one- year commitment.
General Program Overview
- 8, 12, 16, 18, 24 week orientations (depending on specialty) with 8 and 12 hour shifts
- Specialty-specific learning in 3, 6, 9, and 12 month milestones
- Individualized mentor support throughout the year
- Participation in classroom-based didactic and one-on-one learning
- Participation in group-based discussions in a supportive environment
Program Requirements:
- New graduate RNs with less than six months nursing experience
- GPA 3.0 or higher
- Successfully pass NCLEX prior to the program start date
